JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Feb. 25, 2016 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- If you are having chest pains related to angina, acupuncture may be more effective than conventional drugs says the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). In a recent meta-analysis, researchers found that "acupuncture significantly increased the clinical curative effects in the relief of angina symptoms and improved the electrocardiography indicating that acupuncture therapy was superior to conventional drugs.[1]"


Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) defines angina as chest pain that occurs when the heart muscle is not getting enough blood and may feel like pressure or a squeezing pain in the chest or indigestion. The pain also may occur in the shoulders, arms, neck, jaw, or back. It is a common sign of heart disease.
